The Orientation Program for the First year degree students was held on the 18th and 19th of June, 2018. Each classroom had teachers conducting sessions on important guidelines that students had to follow in the academic year 2018-2019. A welcome prayer, which had readings from different religious texts helped the students to invoke the presence of God through meditation and reflection. Dr. Vincent, Ms. Priyanka Precila D'Cunha, and Radhika Castelino welcomed the students after the prayer.
Individual sessions were held in I B.Com A, I B.Com B and I BA; where the students were introduced to the campus culture, familiarized with the Class Guide system, contents of the College Calendar were explained, and Extra Curricular and Co-curricular activities were listed out along with their requirements and scope.
Students were further informed about the way examinations were held along with marking system relevant to the subjects they had opted for. To aid the students with gathering study material for their courses, they had been told how they could access the library and mentioned its facilities. Mentoring is also one of the important aspects in which the students are academically and personally aided throughout the academic year. After helping the students overcome their initial apprehensions, assurance had been given that their foray into the Undergraduate course would be one of the most enriching experiences of their lives.
